Urwerk Limited Edition EMC Pistol.

I must confess, there are few words to describe the Urwerk EMC Pistol.

When you have one in your hand, from the hand engraved case to the exotic leather strap, I can only say the craftsmanship is a stroke of Mechanical and Artistic genius.

With only five EMC pistol pieces for the last of the EMC series, the Austrian Florian Güllert – traditionally a firearm engraver – has ensured that each piece holds a strong sense of individuality that differentiates it from its predecessors.

The dial is constructed of the fittingly masculine titanium and solid steel, he softens the shell combining a traditional floral pattern with futuristic design that flows continuously from the face towards the strap.

This unique watch is equally complimented by its unique strap. The creation of this evolved in the Geneva workshop of a small company run by Josephine Morph. Portalès, is well known by experts and Josephine regularly creates straps for bespoke watches.

When Baumgartner and Frei requested her expertise she recommended the rarely used Nile crocodile leather. The three-dimensional surface of the strap works perfectly in this instance and the embossing pattern on the body enhances the overall design.

Overall, Urwerk have created a masterpiece and an extremely innovative watch which has been recognised by professional bodies in the world of Horology. The EMC Pistol being unique has set a premium standard from the dial work to the artistically engraved case of the watch to the exotic leather strap which pieces this piece of horo-art to its bearers wrist.

I am not sure how many pieces have been sold to specific owners but I am very sure that should you purchase one of the five or you manage to acquire one on the resale market, you will be far from disappointed.
